It has almost been one year since I have started freelancing. The most monumental lesson I have learned is not to be intimidated by fear, but to dance with it.
If you want to learn how to do something, do it. No one is stopping you but YOU. Don’t question whether or not you will get it right the first time. There will always be the “what if’s”, but without valiant efforts and attempts you will never improve.
Sure you will fail, sometimes more often than not – but you will also succeed. Consider each failure as another way that will not work. Would you rather be the one who tried and failed, or the one who did not try at all? Without my great list of failures I would never know what I now know today.
So instead of perceiving fear as a big scary monster, simply alter your perception. Make it fun. Dance with it.
“Stumbling Your Way to Greatness”
One reason people who spend a lot of time thinking about and working on a problem or a craft seem to find breakthroughs more often than everyone else is that they’ve failed more often than everyone else.
