American Marketing Association

Day 7: My Tip

Kimberly Reddington · November 6, 2018 · Leave a Comment

At the American Marketing Association Connecticut Regional Marketing Conference this past weekend the students asked our Alumni panel for tips for moving from college to career.

My tip: You are who you surround yourself with.

I even explained how I assumed the professors in the audience didn’t expect me, of all people, to one day be giving tips to students, along with a successful Alumni panel.

It’s not always easy, but sometimes you have to reassess who you’re surrounding yourself with. Are they helping you or holding you back? Are they encouraging you or enabling you?

In my case, as soon as I started shoving myself into situations with dream chasers and move makers, life changed.

Day 6: The Breakfast of Champions?

Feedback.

Feedback is the breakfast of champions.”

-Bob Ruffolo, Founder & CEO of IMPACT Marketing Agency

Ain’t that the truth.

I used to cringe any time I received constructive feedback, now I crave it. It’s one sure way to be better than you were yesterday – and carve a better you.

It’s true. You are who you surround yourself with. You need to be around the people that teach you new things, and make you want to set the bar higher….Every. Single. Day. Shoutout to Connor & Caroline, who put together an EPIC event – #MarioNatarelli who gave an epic keynote – and everyone who participated in the American Marketing Association Connecticut Regional Marketing Conference this weekend at Central. I’m SO honored to have been part of the Alumni panel. #creatingrockstarconnections

Day 4: 2018 Connecticut Regional Marketing Conference

A few months back was invited to participate in the Alumni panel at the 2018 American Marketing Association Connecticut Regional Marketing Conference. It went down today.

Boy, was this one heck of a conference. Students, faculty, alumni, case studies, a keynote speaker – the whole nine.

Let’s just say I was inspired on many levels. This week I’ll be sharing some of my most memorable moments of the event…stay tuned!

A shoutout to Conor, Caroline (of Western Connecticut State University Ancell School of Business), and all those who put together the event. It was remarkable.
