We all have rough patches.
Just remember that. Life can really grind you down sometimes, you know what I mean – it just gets crazy. Even with the most positive of attitudes your soul can just hurt. Personal events occur, national and international events take place and discomfort your soul without you even realizing.
Two Options.
There are good ways to deal with the pressures of life, and there are the “not-so-good” ways. I am guilty of the latter and am learning daily to cope the good way – through art, work that matters. A way that will result in a better me and you.
Art heals.
When you listen to music, you can relate to the artist. You can feel at ease knowing that you are not the only one going though a difficult time. When you listen to music you can “let loose” and zone into a moment, freeing your mind of discomfort.
When you see a painting, a sculpture or a photograph that an artist has put blood, sweat, passion and overwhelming hours into you get a FEELING. A feeling that takes away the pain, even for a moment.
When you create a new masterpiece you can now pivot your pain into creativity instead of suffering further by coping in a “not-so-good” way. You can create something that not only you are proud of, but may in fact make someone else feel again.
Support an artist today.
Artists deserve our support. With so much chaos going on in this world today, supporting something that can actually make this world a better place is very important. Go out and buy a new book, purchase a new single on iTunes, invest in a new painting that can brighten your smile when you walk through your door on any given day. Think of that time you were at rock-bottom and could thank an artist for pulling you up. Encourage a creative person to keep creating. Let’s keep the good going..
