Kimberly Reddington · January 3, 2015 · Leave a Comment

Happy New Year to all! I would like to take a moment to unveil a project I have been part of for the past few months, and this is only the beginning..

All New American will launch products including bags, shirts & hats later in the year, but the community building has already begun. I look forward to working further with co-founders Elizabeth Barek and John Weeden.

Please take a moment to check out what we have going on HERE on the All New American website. Thoughts and feedback are always appreciated!

One Thing All (Most) Websites Need

Somethings Missing…

Throughout the past year I have become much more cognizant of websites. I catch myself analyzing the design and experience regularly. I have come across so many beautiful, responsive and creative websites. These websites are fully functional, appealing to the eye – but some still missing one thing.

A Subscribe Button

I cannot stress the importance of a blogger, artist or business having a subscribe button on their website, on every page of their website for that matter. Your page can be the most beautiful page in all of the land, but remember the name of your game should be to convert your web audience into subscribers.

A tribe is a group of people connected to one another, connected to a leader, and connected to an idea.
-Seth Godin

The true members of the tribe you are building are those who click that button. They WANT to know more about what you have going on. They have voluntarily clicked in to connect. They are your true tribe, your targeted audience.

The Overlooked Gem

E-mail lists are an overlooked gem. You would much rather share or promote to those who willingly engaged, than share or promote with a general audience. As you know, Facebook and Twitter can become quickly swarmed with content, easily pushing your message to the bottom. An email will sit in your tribe’s inbox until it is opened.

Get Started!

With Mailchimp, the benefits are unlimited. Mailchimp provides you with the opportunity to build your email list with embedded forms for your website. You have the ability to design your own custom, responsive newsletters. You are even provided with detailed data analysis which includes subscriber data, how many people have joined your list, how many people have actually opened your email, etc.

I highly recommend if you do not already have a subscribe button on your webpage to add it as soon as possible. If you need any assistance or have any questions regarding Mailchimp please feel free to give me a shout!

One Person – Colossal Impact

Kimberly Reddington · September 15, 2014 · Leave a Comment

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank Brian Gardner, Founder of StudioPress (the makers of the Genesis framework), CPO and Partner at Copyblogger Media not to mention also a fellow avid Starbucks lover.

Creativity is one my my favorite things, it makes me feel alive and free. Starting off my website design journey I had come across some not so sustainable ways to produce a website, and then I was introduced to Studiopress and the Genesis Framework for WordPress. This framework is built by Brian and other fabulous developers that I can trust to provide me a fresh, clean canvas to create on. What I like to call a lean, mean framework machine.. literally.

Brian is one hell of a mentor that I strive to become. He is not only ridiculously knowledgeable and LOVES what he does, he voluntarily helps others’ along their creative journey. On his blog he provides code snippets and Genesis tutorials to make a smoother ride for the Genesis community. On Twitter he stays active and involved answering questions from the #GenesisWP crew including myself. Check out my sweet new social links at the bottom of this page, and my new social share buttons. Brian taught me that.

What makes a remarkable mentor is the ability to

  • guide
  • listen
  • educate
  • provide constructive feedback
  • be accessible
  • be admirable

Brian blows away all aspects. I am forever thankful that such a busy, creative, successful man can be all of these things. I thank you for the platform you let me create on and the person you make me want to become. Your energy is contagious. You are beyond an impact to the world we live in.

Thank you, Brian.

Stand Apart

Kimberly Reddington · April 24, 2014 · Leave a Comment

toms-logo-1What makes you stand apart from your competitor? What makes someone want to choose your product or service over the competitor?

If I were buying new shoes, would I just want a regular pair of new shoes, or would I want new shoes that I could TALK about..

Tom’s shoes has mastered this business concept. For every pair of shoes purchased, one pair of shoes is donated to a child in a developing country. This social-model has already allowed Toms to donate over ten million pairs of shoes to those in need thus far.

If you purchase a pair of Tom’s shoes, you are not just purchasing a pair of shoes. You are purchasing a STORY that you can talk about. A story with a good cause that can be told over and over again, exponentially. The most authentic, trustworthy and valuable form of marketing there is.

Think about this concept next time you are evaluating your product or service, what can make you stand apart? I would love to hear more about how your business stands apart – share below!

Why should my business tweet?

admin · April 8, 2014 · Leave a Comment

A question we often receive from customers at iTribeMedia is “why should my business tweet?” What advantage would I have by joining this social media platform? I have a few major benefits below that will make you hop on the Twitter Train very quickly..unnamed

Build a Relationship

Your Twitter followers want to know what you have to say. If your customers seek you out on twitter, they automatically and voluntarily want to know what you have to say. They want to know what your business has going on. They want to see what deals you have to offer. Free access to your loyal customers – why not?

RT aka Retweet

Following respected mentors and influential businesses can help you spread your word. When you #hashtag your tweets to your specified business with designated keywords, you never know who will RT what you have to say.

Example: You are a singer and would like to notify your followers that you have a new single coming out. You tweet “I have a new single coming out on 6/15/2014, subscribe to our website for a free preview. #single #track #singer #music #mtv”. MTV could potentially retweet this to all of their followers. (all 10.6 million followers)Who could say no to that free advertising?

Your competition is already there

Your competitors are already on the bandwagon! This should be enough reason for you to make your presense known.

Like anything else, Twitter only works if you do. Put yourself out there. Converse with your customers. Get involved in the community. This is just one of the ways the magic will start to happen as you build your tribe..

We would love to know what social media platforms your business likes to use!

If you have any further questions or inquiries, or need help getting your business set up on twitter, please feel free to contact us at iTribeMedia.com
