Constructive feedback. Sounds considerably more positive than the term “constructive criticism,” doesn’t it?
I was never one to accept constructive feedback very well. I would almost take offense to anyone trying to give me advice or recommendations. Glad my feelings have changed..
Constructive feedback should be considered a gift. The outcome could be tremendous, as long as you give it a chance and “Try it On” as Seth mentions in his recent post.
So next time someone provides you with constructive feedback – take it with a grain of salt and become bigger, better and more experienced than you were before you received your “gift.”
When a friend says, ‘you’d look good in a hat’… Put on a jacket that goes with the hat. Walk around with the hat on. Take a few pictures of yourself wearing a hat. Then, if you want to, sure, stop wearing hats. Advice is not criticism.”
